Minivan rental in Kyiv lets a family or team travel together when a normal passenger car is too small. BLS offers self-drive passenger van hire for a shared journey, rather than cargo transport for a removal. Agree the passenger count, child-seat needs and luggage before booking: a van's exterior size does not establish its seating configuration.

Seven, eight or nine seats: confirm the actual layout
Count the driver as part of your group. A seven-seat layout accommodates seven people in total, not seven passengers plus a driver. A group of eight or nine needs a different capacity. Confirm the actual vehicle's seating, transmission and luggage space instead of assuming them from the category name. More seats do not automatically mean space for the same number of large suitcases.
- Count all adults and children, including the driver.
- Give the number of child seats and children's ages when agreeing equipment.
- Specify the size and number of large cases, pushchairs and other bags.
- Check usable luggage space in the seating layout you will actually use.
- Do not plan to remove or reposition seats without BLS permission.
For moving goods rather than people, compare cargo vans for removals. A smaller family with substantial luggage can also consider estate cars for family travel. A passenger cabin should not be treated as an unrestricted cargo compartment simply because it looks spacious.
Passenger van rental: daily hire and longer periods
A daily rental suits a family event or group collection. A week supports a shared holiday, while monthly rental can serve a project team. When comparing one minivan with two cars, include the full rental period, fuel, parking and drivers. A larger vehicle is not necessarily cheaper in every situation; the route and duration determine the useful comparison.
Drivers, mileage and security payments
General BLS requirements for an ordinary passenger vehicle start at age 21 with two years of driving experience. Confirm the class, actual seat count and licence category of the selected minivan separately. Prime requires at least 25 and three years of experience and must be available for the chosen car. Every person sharing the driving needs to be added to the agreement.
Base includes 250 km per day. Prime provides unlimited mileage from day one when it is available for the chosen vehicle. Eligible Prime bookings do not require a standard vehicle deposit, but BLS retains separate funds for possible traffic fines. Confirm the mileage terms for the complete booking and the vehicle-return arrangements before reservation.
If the team needs a minivan for 60+ days and a special programme is offered, check its monthly mileage separately. Ordinary unlimited-mileage Prime and a long-term offer with its own allowance are not interchangeable. Count daily participant collection detours as well as the distance to the work site.
Prepare for minivan car hire
Choose a clear meeting point and allow time to load luggage. Check car-park entrance height and space to open doors using the actual vehicle's dimensions, not those of another model. For railway-station collection, agree an exact meeting location. The van is supplied with a full fuel tank and must be returned full, so leave time for refuelling and inspection. Plan suitable breaks for children and older passengers rather than assuming everyone can follow the same travel pace.
Self-drive travel or a separate driver request?
Self-drive hire works when the group has an experienced approved driver and wants to choose its own stops. If everyone is participating in an event or nobody is comfortable driving a larger vehicle, discuss a separate driver service beforehand. Its quotation depends on the route, working time and waiting; it is not automatically included in self-drive rental.
How to rent a minibus before the group assembles
- Provide the final total including the driver, luggage, child-seat needs, dates and meeting point.
- Receive confirmation of the actual layout, approved drivers, mileage and full quotation.
- For Ukrainian citizens, prepare a passport or ID card, driving licence and tax identification number. Foreign customers need a passport and valid licence; check any international permit requirement before reservation.
- Agree payment and handover, then sign the contract and condition record. Prepare company documents and any required power of attorney in advance, not while passengers are boarding.
Payment is by Visa, Mastercard, AmEx or bank transfer, not cash. Reservation prepayment contributes to the final bill. For family travel, also allow for fuel, parking and agreed extras: the vehicle rate is not a complete budget for the whole group.
