Start with the road, then choose the drive system
A higher seating position and an all-wheel-drive system are different features. A vehicle in the SUV category may have front-wheel drive, all-wheel drive or another configuration depending on the exact car. Ask BLS to confirm the drive system, tyres, ground clearance, transmission and seating for the vehicle offered on your dates. Do not assume that specifications you found for a model in another year or market apply to the rental car in front of you.
Even where four-wheel drive is fitted, it does not shorten stopping distance on ice or make every steep or muddy track appropriate for a rental vehicle. Tyres, weather, visibility and driver judgement matter just as much. Fords, forest ruts and other unagreed off-road sections should not be treated as ordinary permitted use.
For a mainly paved itinerary, compare a crossover in Ivano-Frankivsk. If passenger capacity is the main concern, compare passenger minivans.
A regional itinerary needs more than a destination name
For Yaremche, Vorokhta or Bukovel, check the exact address and final approach, not only the main highway. Record stops and the agreed return location, confirm any uncertain road with BLS before booking, and check forecast and road updates before departure.

Request a child seat or booster in advance, giving the child's age; availability and suitability for the chosen car must be confirmed separately.
Do not let bags obstruct seat belts or the driver's view. If equipment is bulky, give BLS its approximate dimensions before booking instead of relying on exterior photos. Ask whether the chosen vehicle can take your actual passengers and belongings on the agreed route. For a company trip, also decide who signs the agreement, pays the bill and may drive.
Daily, weekly and monthly rental: compare like with like
A single-day SUV hire can cover a specific regional journey or substitute for a vehicle temporarily unavailable to you. A week-long trip requires a more complete mileage estimate and an agreed return schedule. For a month, consider repeat journeys, several authorised drivers and company paperwork. The class itself does not make a longer booking better value; compare the overall rental cost against the route and seating you actually need.
The category's lowest rate starts at $56 per day for a rental of at least 29 days. It is not a one-day rate or a fixed price for every SUV. Choose the same dates, pickup point and plan when comparing options. Delivery, a different return point, child equipment or an additional driver may affect the final quote if available. What Base and Prime change, and what they do not
Base includes 250 km of driving per day. Prime provides unlimited mileage from day one regardless of rental length, if it is available for the selected vehicle. An urban itinerary may fit Base; several regional outings may change the comparison. Count the outward trip, local use and the return before choosing a plan. Unlimited mileage is not permission to take the car onto unapproved roads, ignore territorial limits or allow an unlisted person to drive.
Where Prime is available, it removes the standard vehicle security deposit. BLS separately retains USD 200 or USD 300, depending on vehicle class, solely against possible traffic fines. That amount is neither the rental charge nor the standard deposit for the car. Review the return process for these funds, the insurance cover, excess and exclusions before paying. If a car is not eligible for Prime, ask for the normal Base deposit and the complete booking conditions.
Each driver must meet the age, experience and licence requirements for the specific vehicle and be approved in the agreement. For Ukrainian citizens, the usual documents are a passport or ID card, a driving licence and tax number; requirements for foreign drivers are checked separately. If more than one person will drive during the trip, arrange that before the keys are handed over. Do not assume a passenger automatically becomes an authorised driver.
