Minivan rental in Ivano-Frankivsk makes sense when a family, visiting team or group of friends wants to travel together and set its own schedule. BLS offers passenger vehicles for self-drive rental, not a coach with a driver or a cargo van. Start with the number of people and the luggage they will bring. A vehicle that seats everyone may still have limited room for large suitcases when every row is in use.
Count the driver before you count the bags
A nine-seat layout includes the driver's seat, so it can carry up to eight passengers in that configuration. The number and arrangement of seats differ between individual vehicles. Before booking, ask BLS to confirm the layout of the minivan you intend to rent rather than assuming every vehicle in the category has nine seats. Give the team the number of adults, children and bags, including bulky items such as a stroller or sports equipment.
When all seats are occupied, luggage space may be considerably smaller than the vehicle's exterior suggests. If you need a child seat or booster, specify the children's ages when you enquire; the equipment and its compatibility with the chosen minivan must be confirmed. A child still occupies a passenger place. Do not plan to carry extra people in a luggage area or beyond the number of approved seats.
A smaller group with substantial baggage may be better served by a station wagon for a luggage-heavy trip. If equipment or goods, rather than passengers, are the main load, compare a cargo van in Ivano-Frankivsk. Passenger and cargo vans solve different problems even though both may be called a van in everyday English.
When one vehicle beats two, and when it does not
One passenger minivan keeps the group on the same timetable. Everyone can make the same stops and share luggage without repeatedly coordinating two drivers. That does not automatically make it the cheapest or most convenient choice. Two smaller cars may work better when travellers have different destinations or departure times. Compare the entire trip: rental terms for the same dates, fuel, parking, luggage, mileage and the number of authorised drivers.
Self-drive passenger van rental requires an approved driver whose age, experience and licence meet the selected vehicle's conditions. Include any additional driver in the agreement before they drive; chauffeur service is not included.
Pickup in the city and journeys into the region
The BLS office in Ivano-Frankivsk is at 12 Mykhaila Mulyka Street (formerly Harkushi Street). It is open daily from 08:30 to 20:30; call +38 067 179 26 26. Agree on your pickup and return locations before paying. Delivery to the station, a hotel or another address may be possible, but availability and any charge depend on the date, time and location. An alternative return point also requires prior agreement.
For a trip towards Yaremche, Vorokhta or other destinations in the Carpathian foothills, calculate the return distance as well as the outward drive. Allow time for traffic, stops and seasonal road conditions. A passenger minivan is not an off-road vehicle simply because your destination is mountainous. Ask about permitted roads and insurance exclusions before taking a route with uncertain surface conditions.
In the city centre, near accommodation and at tourist stops, check parking-bay length and height restrictions at garage entrances. Before you set off, adjust the mirrors and get used to the turning space of a larger vehicle. At handover, inspect the body, windows, seats, doors and fuel level with the BLS representative. Record any existing damage on the handover form so that the return inspection has a clear starting point.
- Confirm the agreed pickup and return points, including any delivery charge.
A day, a week or a month with a minivan
A one-day rental can cover a family arrival, a shared event or a short trip outside Ivano-Frankivsk. For a week, map the complete itinerary and decide whether the mileage allowance suits it. A month-long minivan rental may fit an extended stay or recurring journeys by a team without buying another vehicle. For a company booking, settle who signs the agreement, who may drive and which payment documents are required before the first trip.
The category's lowest rate starts at $99 per day for rentals of at least 29 days. That is a long-term rate, not the one-day price or a promise that every minivan costs the same. Select your dates, pickup point, vehicle and rental plan to see the actual total. Child seats, delivery or a different return location may affect the final quote if available. You can also compare other rental car classes in Ivano-Frankivsk if the group size changes.
Base and Prime: mileage is not the whole story
Base includes 250 km of driving per day. Prime provides unlimited mileage from the first day, regardless of rental length, if it is offered for the vehicle you choose. For a mainly urban visit, estimate whether Base already covers your distance. For several regional outings, compare the overall cost of both plans instead of looking only at the headline daily rate. Unlimited mileage does not waive contract rules on routes, permitted use or vehicle return.
Where Prime is available, it removes the standard vehicle security deposit. BLS still retains a separate USD 200 or USD 300, depending on vehicle class, solely against possible traffic fines. That amount is not the rental charge and is not the standard vehicle deposit. Ask when and how it is returned, and review the insurance cover, excess and exclusions in your booking terms. If the selected minivan is not eligible for Prime, confirm the standard deposit under Base before booking.
Why choose BLS for a group trip
BLS Car Rental has operated since 2007 and provides BLS Assistance 24/7. Review the contract and document the vehicle's condition at handover; the exact vehicle and equipment must be confirmed for your dates.
