City Ivano-Frankivsk

Where to spend the first spring weekend without leaving Ukraine? We addressed this question to familiar urbanists and they almost unanimously advised us to Ivano-Frankivsk. And since we have not yet written about this city in our Monday reviews, so read a small guide to one of the most beautiful western Ukrainian regional centers. You can go here both with your loved one (nevertheless, March 8 is a romantic date for many), as well as the whole family.

The way to Frankivsk from Kyiv is about 600 kilometers of Ukrainian roads. Therefore, we recommend renting new and technically perfect cars at the best price so as not to bother while traveling. Ask managers about the "weekend" tariff - with it you get almost 3 days at the price of 2! So, you are in Kyiv. Everyone advises starting to get acquainted with the city from the observation deck at the town hall. And the town hall itself is worth attention - the Frankivsk Town Hall is the only one in Ukraine built in the style of constructivism, and its height is 49.5 meters. Therefore, ignoring her would be a big mistake.

Further, we advise taking a walk to the Potocki Palace (Hospitalnaya St., 3). The former residence of the founders of the city is not always open to visitors, but it is worthwhile to look outside for its gates. The next stop is the so-called “hundred-metering” - a pedestrian street with cafes, restaurants, and shops at the beginning of Independence Street. Here you can not only eat but also listen to street musicians or take pictures with the numerous metal sculptures that are created in the city during the annual Blacksmith Festival.

Incidentally, Ivano-Frankivsk (formerly Stanislavov) was planned as a military fortification, and some of the forts have survived to this day. Now the fortress gallery "Bastion" (Lane 1, Fortress) is working at this place, which we also recommend visiting.

But to truly welcome spring in the middle of nature, which is about to begin to wake up, you can on the local lake. Moreover, among it, there is the so-called "Island of Love", which can be reached by crossing the bridge.

Finally, we advise you to visit one of the city’s new business cards - the Prompribor factory (23 Akademika Sakharova St.). Thanks to revitalization, it has turned from an industrial facility into a popular place for meetings, work or just relaxing.

And now - traditionally about where the TripAdvisor advises to stay overnight and have lunch in Ivano-Frankivsk. Rating hotels: Atrium, Fontush Boutique Hotel, Hotel Nadezhda and Stanislavov. Among the restaurants it is worth visiting the Dozen beer club, having lunch at the Spindles and having dinner at the Surname.
